Ferrosilicon melting point
1410℃
The melting point of ferrosilicon is 1410℃. Ferrosilicon is an alloy of iron and silicon with a chemical formula of FeSi and a density of 6.100 g/cm³. It is insoluble in water and acid, paramagnetic at high temperatures and antiferromagnetic at low temperatures.
Ferrosilicon is widely used in industry, mainly as a deoxidizer and alloying element additive in steelmaking. In the steelmaking industry, ferrosilicon can be used as a deoxidizer to remove oxides from steel, while releasing a large amount of heat to increase the temperature of molten steel. In addition, ferrosilicon can also be used as an alloying element additive to improve the strength, hardness and elasticity of steel.
