For example, silicon in silicon carbon alloys undergoes an affinity reaction with oxygen, deoxidizing the oxygen in molten steel and thus improving the hardness and quality of the steel. Secondly, silicon carbon alloys can increase furnace temperature, accelerate the conversion rate of ferroalloys, and speed up the reaction between molten steel and elements. Furthermore, silicon carbon alloys possess certain strength and hardness, making them suitable for manufacturing wear-resistant materials and friction braking materials.
