Chemical composition of ferrosilicon
The main chemical components of ferrosilicon include silicon (Si), iron (Fe), aluminum (Al), calcium (Ca), manganese (Mn), phosphorus (P), sulfur (S), carbon (C), etc. Among them, the content of silicon is usually between 85% and 95%, while the content of other elements varies according to different alloy types.
The main uses of ferrosilicon include:
Steelmaking industry: as a deoxidizer and alloying agent to increase the temperature of molten steel and reduce energy consumption.
Foundry industry: as an inoculant and spheroidizer to improve the mechanical properties of castings.
Ferroalloy production and chemical industry: used as a reducing agent.
