Raw materials and requirements for ferrosilicon
1. )Raw materials for ferrosilicon production
Ferrosilicon is an alloy product, mainly composed of two elements: silicon and iron. The main raw materials for the production of ferrosilicon include quartz sand, coal tar, bauxite, etc. Among them, quartz sand is one of the main raw materials for ferrosilicon production because of its high silicon content and high purity. Coal tar is a commonly used carbon raw material. By adding a certain amount of coal tar, the melting performance of ferrosilicon can be effectively improved and the production cost can be reduced.
2. )Requirements for raw materials for ferrosilicon
1. Requirements for quartz sand
The quartz sand used in the production of ferrosilicon should have excellent properties such as high purity, low iron content and low oxygen content to ensure the quality of ferrosilicon. At the same time, quartz sand should also be fine-grained polycrystalline quartz, so ferrosilicon manufacturers often choose conductive quartz sand and high-temperature quartz sand when purchasing quartz sand.
2. Requirements for ore
In the production of ferrosilicon, ore is another important raw material. The ore should have the characteristics of high silicon content and low impurity content. Generally, iron-containing quartz, granite ore, etc. are used as raw materials for ferrosilicon. At the same time, the ore needs to be subjected to a series of process treatments such as crushing and screening during the production process to ensure the stability and effectiveness of the ore in production.
3. Requirements for carbon raw materials
Carbon raw materials are an important component for controlling carbon content in ferrosilicon production. Commonly used carbon raw materials include blast furnace coke, coal tar, etc. The selection of carbon raw materials must ensure its quality and avoid excessive costs. Therefore, manufacturers will make different choices and configurations for different situations.
4. Requirements for other additives
Ferrosilicon production requires the addition of a small amount of other additives, such as lime, metal aluminum, etc., to improve the product's corrosion resistance, thermal stability, mechanical strength and other performance.
In general, in ferrosilicon production, the selection and processing of raw materials have a great impact on output and quality. Ferrosilicon manufacturers should reasonably select raw materials and strengthen production process control according to their own production needs to ensure product quality and process benefits.
