Silicon carbon alloy: With the development of the steelmaking industry, it is necessary to improve product quality and reduce steelmaking costs.

 

Traditional steelmaking deoxidation uses aluminum cake, silicon calcium, silicon aluminum ferro, silicon aluminum barium, silicon aluminum calcium barium and other iron alloys for steelmaking deoxidation, which increases the steelmaking cost and the operation process is troublesome. In addition, with the development of cast steel billets, there is a mold injection to continuous injection process, which has poor deoxidation effect, and the steel is prone to pores, bubbles, inclusions, continuous casting nodules, etc. Steelmaking needs to design a silicon-carbon alloy deoxidizer with good deoxidation effect, simpler steelmaking process, safety and reliability.

 

Silicon-carbon alloy deoxidizer is an alloy block or granular powder with a particle size of no more than 5 cm. It is mixed with industrial raw materials SiC and SiFe, including (mass percentage) C15-30%, Si30-65%, S0.02- 0.1%, P0.04-0.1%, H2O0.5%. Compared with the original deoxidizer, silicon-carbon alloy has a simple and easy process, is safe and reliable, not only has good deoxidation, desulfurization, and carburization effects, but also effectively changes the fluidity of molten steel, purifies molten steel, reduces costs, and has significant economic benefits.

 

Before tapping, add all silicon-carbon alloy deoxidizers to the ladle (some heats are left to be added during the tapping process), and then add ferrosilicon and ferromanganese alloys to deoxidize and alloy the steel. After the steel is discharged, the molten steel is sent to the argon blowing station. First, the MED-1-B double platinum-rhodium oxygen probe is used to quickly measure the oxygen activity in the steel, and then the temperature is measured and argon is pre-blown. The processed molten steel is sent to the continuous casting machine to be continuously cast into steel billets.
