Production Process: High-purity ferrosilicon is typically produced using either an electric furnace smelting method or an off-furnace reduction method, where silica and other raw materials are heated and reduced. Metallic silicon is primarily produced using the calcium carbide method or the silane method. This process involves heating raw materials such as limestone and coke in an electric furnace to produce calcium carbide, which is then converted into pure silicon through electrolysis or chemical reactions.

 

 

II. Content Standards for High-Purity Ferrosilicon
High-purity ferrosilicon is called "high-purity" because of its relatively high silicon content, typically exceeding 70%, and sometimes even exceeding 99%. However, please note that even with a high silicon content, it is not pure silicon due to the presence of other elements such as iron and carbon.

In addition to silicon content, high-purity ferrosilicon also has strict standards for the content of other elements. For example, the carbon content is generally low to maintain the alloy's plasticity and weldability.
