It is widely used in metallurgy, particularly in steelmaking and casting, due to its cost-effectiveness and beneficial properties.
Key Uses of High Carbon Silicon:
1. Steelmaking & Ironmaking
Deoxidizer: Replaces ferrosilicon (FeSi) and silicon carbide (SiC) in steel production to remove oxygen, improving steel quality.
Alloying Agent: Enhances hardness and strength in steel by increasing silicon content.
