Silicon Manganese 6517
Sep 20, 2024
Silicon manganese 6517 refers to a silicon manganese iron alloy containing 65% manganese and 17% silicon. Silicon manganese alloy refers to an alloy composed of manganese, silicon, iron, a small amount of carbon and other elements. It is a ferroalloy with a wide range of uses and a large output. Manganese silicon alloy is a commonly used composite deoxidizer in steelmaking, and is also a reducing agent for the production of medium and low carbon ferromanganese and the production of metallic manganese by the electric silicon thermal method. Manganese and silicon are the main alloying elements used in carbon steel. Manganese is one of the most important deoxidizers in the steelmaking process, and almost all types of steel require manganese for deoxidation.
The approximate consumption of smelting one ton of manganese silicon alloy is: manganese ore (containing Mn28.5%) 2000~2100kg manganese-rich slag (containing Mn36%) 700~800kg silica 250~280kg coke 550~650kg power consumption 4500~4800KWh/t manganese recovery rate 75%~80% silicon recovery rate 40%~50%.
