Effect of ferrosilicon powder particle size on the synthesis of ferrosilicon nitride
FeSi75 was used as raw material and ferrosilicon nitride powder was prepared by direct nitridation synthesis method. The nitridation rules of three kinds of ferrosilicon powders with median diameters (d50) of 13.41 μm, 8.023 μm and 5.229 μm were studied after being kept at 1150 ℃, 1250 ℃ and 1350 ℃ for 9 h. The phase composition and micromorphology of the products were determined and observed by means of XRD, SEM and other testing methods. The results show that when the finer ferrosilicon powder (d50=5.229 μm) is nitrided, the reaction is fast and violent, resulting in severe sintering and poor nitriding effect, while the coarser ferrosilicon powder (d50=13.41 The nitriding effect of ferrosilicon powder with a diameter of 0.1 μm is better; the finer ferrosilicon powder is easy to form whisker-like, fibrous and columnar silicon nitride crystals after nitriding, and the coarser ferrosilicon powder is easy to form spherical silicon nitride agglomerates after nitriding. There are a large number of pores filled with silicon nitride in the prepared ferrosilicon nitride, and Fe3Si and FexSi in the product are surrounded by them. This structure is conducive to the excellent performance of ferrosilicon nitride.
