Oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance
High carbon silicon has good oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance, can remain stable at high temperatures, and has a low expansion coefficient and good thermal stability. These characteristics enable high carbon silicon to work and exist stably in various media.
Deoxidation performance
High carbon silicon contains silicon element. After adding high carbon silicon in the steelmaking process, the silicon element reacts with oxygen in an affinity reaction, deoxidizes the oxygen in the molten steel, and improves the hardness and quality of the steel. In addition, the silicon element in the high carbon silicon has a good affinity with oxygen, so the molten steel has the characteristic of not splashing after being added.
Slag collection performance
High carbon silicon also has the advantage of slag collection. Putting a certain proportion of high carbon silicon into the molten steel can make the oxides in the steelmaking process quickly gather together, which is convenient for filtering and processing, making the molten steel purer, and greatly improving the density and hardness of the steel.
