High carbon silicon production process

High carbon silicon, also known as silicon carbon alloy, or High carnon ferro silicon. This product is a by-product of the production of metal silicon. The main content is composed of silicon and carbon.silicon content is usually between 40-70% and carbon content is 10-25%. Other contents are: silicon, phosphorus, sulfur, etc. Common forms are lump, granule, powder, briquette, etc.

High carbon silicon is a by product comes from silicon metal .So how exactly is high carbon silicon made?

In the process of smelting metal silicon, the heating of the electrodes in the furnace is not enough. As a result, the heat at the bottom of the furnace does not reach the temperature needed to produce silicon metal.  This makes the silicon and carbon in the raw material at the bottom of the furnace not completely react. After a long time of accumulation, High carbon silicon (silicon Carbon alloy/ High carbon ferro silicon) is formed.

The High carbon silicon deposits on the bottom of the melting furnace, and has to be cleaned out in months interval. But with technological development, the interval has prolonged from three months to six months. So the output of this product is limited.

We are a professional high carbon silicon manufacturer for many years . We collect and select High carbon silicon from bigger Silicon metal factories all around China. The clients we have cooperated with are South Korea, Japan, Southeast Asia and and other countries and regions. Our quality products, competitive price and perfect after-sales service have been well received by our customers
