Classification of ferro silicon
Ferro silicon is divided into four categories according to the content of silicon and its impurities and its uses: high silicon ferro silicon, ordinary ferro silicon, low aluminum ferro silicon and high purity ferro silicon. Each type of ferro silicon has its own unique characteristics and uses.
1. High silicon ferro silicon: ferro silicon with a silicon content of more than 87%, which has the characteristics of high silicon content and low impurities, and is mainly used for smelting high-quality steel.
2. Ordinary ferro silicon: The most widely used type of ferro silicon, including 72# ferro silicon, 75# ferro silicon, 65# ferro silicon, etc. There are generally no too many requirements for the content of other impurities in these ferro silicon alloys, which are suitable for most metallurgical scenarios.
3. Low aluminum ferro silicon: An alloy made by adding a certain amount of aluminum to a ferro silicon alloy, in which the aluminum content needs to be marked. Low aluminum ferro silicon has advantages in certain specific applications, such as improving the corrosion resistance of steel.
4. High purity ferro silicon: A ferro silicon alloy with Si and Fe as effective elements and very low content of other impurities. High-purity ferro silicon has a wide range of applications in high-end metallurgical fields, such as the production of high-quality silicon steel for transformers.
