Are Industrial Silicon And Ferro Silicon The Same Thing

Are industrial silicon and ferrosilicon the same thing?
They are not the same thing at all.
Industrial silicon is industrial-grade pure silicon, also called metallic silicon. Electronic-grade silicon is the various chips used to make large-scale integrated circuits in computers.
Ferrosilicon is iron doped with silicon. It is an iron alloy composed of iron and silicon. Ferrosilicon is an iron-silicon alloy made by smelting in an electric furnace using coke, steel scraps, and quartz (or silica) as raw materials. Since silicon and oxygen can easily combine to form silicon dioxide, ferrosilicon is often used as a deoxidizer in steelmaking. At the same time, since a large amount of heat is released when SiO2 is generated, it is also beneficial to increase the temperature of molten steel while deoxidizing. At the same time, ferrosilicon can also be used as an alloying element additive and is widely used in low-alloy structural steel, spring steel, bearing steel, heat-resistant steel and electrical silicon steel.
