The desertified land is mainly distributed in the Three North regions, and the desertified areas are highly coupled with economically underdeveloped areas and areas inhabited by ethnic minorities. For a long time, my country has regarded the prevention and control of desertification as an important strategic task, and adopted a series of effective measures. The key control areas have achieved a historic transformation from "sand ingress and people retreat" to "green advancement and desert retreat", protecting the ecology and improving people's livelihood Step into a virtuous circle.
In the past few days, Dang Jianguo of Hongqi Village, Ulantuk Town, Linhe District, Bayannaoer City, Inner Mongolia is busy checking the growth of corn. The corn is growing well, and Dang Jianguo feels that this year's harvest is guaranteed.

Heavy sandstorms were the most worrying thing for the villagers of Hongqi Village in the past. Today, the reason why the villagers are able to farm in a down-to-earth manner is because of the lush windbreak and sand-fixing forests planted in the state-owned Xinhua Forest Farm in Bayannaoer City not far away. These trees have become the "windbreak and sandproof wall" of the farmland.
In the forest farm, there are not only tall poplars, willows and elms, but also low shrubs such as Amorpha fruticosa and Yangchai. Seeing the vitality in front of us, who would have imagined that the place where they grew was once full of sand dunes, barren beaches, and saline-alkali land.

Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, under the guidance of Xi Jinping's ecological civilization thought, my country has continued to carry out large-scale land greening actions. The results of the sixth national survey on desertification and sandification released at the end of last year showed that the area of ​​desertified and sandy land in my country has maintained a "double reduction" for four consecutive monitoring periods, and for the first time achieved a "double reversal" of desertification and sandy land in all surveyed provinces. 2021-2030 is the construction period of the sixth phase of the "Three Norths" project, a critical period for consolidating and expanding the achievements of desertification prevention and control, and a critical period for promoting the high-quality development of the "Three Norths" project. This is an uphill battle. Only by drawing a blueprint to the end, working one crop after another, and persevering, can we build a solid ecological security barrier in northern my country and create a new miracle in China's desertification prevention and control in the new era.
