Ferro silicon can also be used as an alloying agent in steelmaking. The appearance shows the color of metallic bread, without powder and slag inclusion. The content of silicon in different steels is also different: general steel contains 0.15%-0.35% silicon; structural steel contains 0.40%-1.75% silicon; tool steel contains 0.30%-1.80% silicon; spring steel contains 0.40% silicon %～2.80%; 3.40%～4.00% silicon in stainless acid-resistant steel; 1.00%～3.00% silicon in heat-resistant steel; 2%～3% or higher in silicon steel. In the steelmaking industry, about 3-5kg of ferro silicon is consumed per ton of steel produced, accounting for 75% of the total.
