Ferro silicon (GB/T2272)
Sep 29, 2025
Ferrosilicon (GB/T2272) is an iron-silicon alloy compound specified by the Chinese national standard. The silicon content is 40.0%~95.0%, and it contains a small amount of aluminum, calcium, manganese and other elements. It is mainly used in steelmaking and casting as a deoxidizer, alloy additive and low-carbon ferroalloy reducing agent. Its production follows the technical specifications of GB/T2272, and the current version is the 2009 revised version.
The product is divided into a series of grades such as FeSi75 and FeSi65 according to the silicon content, and the impurity difference is distinguished by the suffix, such as FeSi75-A1.5, which means that the upper limit of aluminum content is 1.5%. The physical form includes two types: block (ingot thickness ≤100mm) and granular. The particle size is divided into five grades: natural block (10-350mm), large, medium and small particles and minimum particle size. Among them, FeSi45 has a special limit on the fine particle size ratio. The chemical composition standard clearly states that the silicon segregation degree is ≤3%, and at the same time restricts the content of harmful elements such as phosphorus and sulfur.
