Silicon carbon alloy is a new type of silicon-enhanced and carbon-enhanced alloy material made of high-purity carbon powder, metal silicon powder and low-sulfur and low-nitrogen carbonaceous materials through special processing technology. The product has high density, high purity, does not pollute molten steel after use, has high recovery rate and stable effect, can replace some ferrosilicon, silicon carbide, and carburizers, reduces the amount of deoxidizers, and is easy to operate without increasing equipment. User praise high carbon silicon.
How to use high carbon silicon?
For a long time, the alloys used in converters have not been adjusted. The traditional alloys have a relatively simple structure, that is, Q195 and Q235 steels use Mnsi+FeSi+SiAiCaBa+Sic+carburizer process, HRB335 and HRB400 steels use MnSi+Fesi+AiSi+ Carbon production process. For traditional silicon-manganese alloys, ferro silicon resources are increasingly tight, and the market price has been rising, which has gradually increased the cost of converter steelmaking and reduced the profit margin of steel. Moreover, the recovery rate of traditional alloys is greatly affected by converter operations. The end point temperature and the amount of slag drop make the alloy composition in the finished product fluctuate greatly. As a result, the chemical composition of the smelted steel is unstable, and the qualified rate of the internal control indicators of the finished product is low.
With the advent of high carbon silicon, more and more steel mills have begun to use high carbon silicon. Generally, the rated particle size is 10-100mm (90%) or 10-60mm (90%), and the rated content is two types: 1. Silicon: 65% minimum, carbon: 15% minimum, 2. Silicon: 68% minimum, carbon: 18% minimum.
High carbon silicon can be added to the bottom of the converter before the molten steel is poured into the converter to ensure more sufficient and rapid melting.
