What Are The Advantages Of Silicon-carbon Alloys in Smelting?
Oct 01, 2021
As a metallurgical material, silicon-carbon alloy is mainly used in the steelmaking industry and plays a very important role in the steelmaking process. However, everyone who understands silicon carbon alloy knows that silicon carbon alloy itself has many functions. In order to let more people understand silicon-carbon alloy and further broaden its application range, our company will summarize our understanding of silicon-carbon alloy for many years, and briefly summarize and introduce the application advantages of silicon-carbon alloy.
Silicon carbon alloy contains silicon element. After silicon carbon alloy is added in the steelmaking process, the silicon element reacts with oxygen to deoxidize the oxygen in the molten steel and improve the hardness and quality of the steel. Moreover, the silicon element in the silicon-carbon alloy has a good affinity with oxygen, so the molten steel has the characteristic of not splashing after being added.
Silicon-carbon alloy also has the advantage of slag collection. When a certain proportion of silicon-carbon alloy is added to the molten steel, the oxides in the steelmaking process will quickly agglomerate, which facilitates filtration treatment, makes the molten steel more pure, and greatly improves the density and hardness of the steel.
