In 2018, China officially opened the world's first national-level exhibition with the theme of import.

President Xi Jinping once said: "Holding the China International Import Expo is a major decision made by China to promote a new round of high-level opening up to the outside world. It is a major measure taken by China to proactively open its market to the world." He emphasized many times that this is not a general decision. The exhibition must be made into a first-class international expo.

Over the past six years, in the face of challenges such as the undercurrent of anti-globalization and the sluggish recovery of the world economy, President Xi Jinping has personally planned, proposed, deployed, and promoted the China International Import Expo every year as scheduled.
