Happy Mid-Autumn Festival And National Day
Sep 26, 2023
As we approach the autumn season, two major holidays are coming up for the Chinese people: Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day. The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, falls on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, usually in September or early October. National Day, on the other hand, is celebrated on October 1st every year.
This year, Mid-Autumn Festival will be on September 29th and National Day will be on October 1st. As both are public holidays, many people will have the opportunity to take some time off from work or school. The Chinese government has announced that this year, there will be an eight-day holiday from Sep.29th, to Oct. 6th, allowing people to spend more time with their families and friends.
During the Mid-Autumn Festival, people usually eat mooncakes, a traditional pastry filled with lotus paste and a salted duck egg yolk in the center. Families and friends will gather together to appreciate the full moon and eat mooncakes. National Day, on the other hand, commemorates the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949. People usually celebrate by watching grand parades and fireworks displays, as well as engaging in traditional Chinese activities such as lion and dragon dances.
With such important holidays coming up, it's important that we take time to celebrate and enjoy these special occasions. It is a great time to bond with family and friends and to appreciate the rich culture and traditions of China.
