There are various ways to classify carburizers. Here are some common classification methods:
1.classification by material
Petroleum coke carburizer:
It is made by calcining and purifying petroleum coke, and its appearance is round or multi-faceted.
It has the characteristics of high carbon, low sulfur and low ash, and is an ideal carbon-adding material and reaction intermediate in metallurgical chemical industry, machinery, power and other industries.
Petroleum coke can be divided into delayed coke, kettle coke, fluidized coke and open-hearth coke according to the coking production process; it can be divided into raw coke and calcined coke (calcined coke) according to the heat treatment temperature; it can be divided into high sulfur coke, medium sulfur coke and low sulfur coke according to the sulfur content of coke; it can be divided into sponge coke, needle coke and shot coke according to the appearance structure and performance.
Coal-based carburizer (calcined coal carburizer):
It is mainly made of anthracite calcination.
It has a relatively low carbon content, slow melting and large residual volume. It is mainly used in steelmaking enterprises, and some foundries also use it for gray cast iron.
Metallurgical coke recarburizer:
Usually refers to the coke used in cupola.
In addition to smelting, it also adds carbon to metal charge.
Graphitized recarburizer:
The main materials are graphitized petroleum coke and graphitized electrodes.
High carbon content, low sulfur content, fast absorption, mainly used for ductile iron.
Natural graphite recarburizer:
Mainly natural graphite, with varying carbon content.
It has the characteristics of low sulfur, low nitrogen, low phosphorus, high temperature resistance, good conductivity, etc., and is mainly used in steel mills.
Artificial graphite recarburizer:
Using powdered high-quality calcined petroleum coke as the main raw material, adding asphalt as a binder, and then adding a small amount of other auxiliary materials, it is made after high-temperature graphitization treatment.
Excellent quality, but expensive.
Composite material recarburizer:
Using waste materials such as graphite powder, coke powder, petroleum coke, etc., adding binders and pressing them into shape by machine.
The carbon content is high, the sulfur content is unstable, and the price is cheap, but the amount added and the sulfur content cannot be stabilized during use.
2.classification by use
Carburizer for steel mills:
Specially used for carburizing operations during steel smelting.
Carburizer for casting:
Carburizer designed specifically for the casting industry, which can meet specific requirements in the casting process.
Reducing agent for chemical industry:
Used as a reducing agent in the chemical industry.
