Ferrosilicon is a gray ferroalloy product composed of iron and silicon. Ferrosilicon is made of coke, scrap steel, and silica, melted in an electric furnace. According to the content of Si, Fe, and Al in ferrosilicon, it can be divided into different grades. Ferrosilicon grades are usually named after the amount of silicon in them. Ferrosilicon usage, the most widely used are ferrosilicon 75(Fesi75) and ferrosilicon 72 (Fesi72).

As we all know, in the steelmaking industry, about 3-5 kg of 75% ferrosilicon(Fesi75) is consumed for every ton of steel produced. In the steelmaking process, silicon reacts with oxidation to generate SiO2, so ferrosilicon can be used as a deoxidizer. At the same time, when SiO2 is generated, a large amount of heat is released, which is beneficial to increase the temperature of molten steel.
The commonly used particle sizes of ferrosilicon are 0-3mm,10-60mm, 10-100mm, and so on.
